In 1890 Aquiares was founded by farmers looking to take advantage of Costa Rica's new railroads that could transport goods to the port of Limon. The farm built its own mill and focused on washed-coffee processes. Aquiares is integrated within the community, providing services, land and jobs. The farm relies on highly skilled community members to function, and to continue to provide exceptional coffees to customers around the world.
Aquiares produces exceptional washed coffees and exciting experimental lots, including co-fermentations with local herbs.
